Anthony “Tony” Nostadt, 100, of Vandalia, OH, passed away March 17, 2010. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth D. Nostadt, who died in 1993.
Born May 23, 1909 in Cupar, Saskatchewan, Canada, the 4th of 10 children of Joseph and Johanna Nostadt. He was faithful to his Catholic faith in attending mass every Sunday, and was a jack-of-all trades who could repair most things mechanical. His longevity can be attributed to his many years of hard work and exercise and leading a godly life.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Wray and her husband, James, and a son, Edward Nostadt; grandchildren, James Anthony Wray and wife Cristina and their son Michael, and Laura Wray Chase and her two girls, Abigal and Madeline; sisters Jennie Nicklas, Ann McNamara and her husband, Leo, a brother William “Bill” Nostadt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 435 E. National Rd., Vandalia, OH. A graveside service will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, March 25, 2010 at St. Vincent Cemetery with The Rev. Joseph F. Gotwalt officiating.
