Anna E. Utz, 97, of Cross Keys Village, entered into God’s eternal care on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at The Brethren Home Community.
Born on Friday, June 4, 1920 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Oliver E. and Sarah Little Blouse. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Utz; their only child, Mildred A. Utz; two sisters, Lillian Miller and Naomi Hartlaub; and two brothers, Norman and Arvilla Blouse.
Anna was a former employee at Smith’s Cigar Factory and was later a baker at Knox’s Restaurant, where she will be remembered for the wonderful pies that she made. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Hanover, where she was a member of the Delta Alpha Sunday school class. A loving and caring person, Anna would help anyone in their time of need and could be seen doing volunteer work for Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Joshua N. Rhone officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held one hour prior to the service.
