Anna M. Chronister, 61, of Hanover, wife of Edward L. Chronister, died peacefully on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Hanover Hospital.
Born on December 10, 1951 in Chambersburg, she was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers; John and Paul Stine.
A waitress and cook in many of the area’s diners, she enjoyed working at Cactus Willies, the Lucky Spot, Keystone Diner, and Cross Keys Diner. She was also trained as a nurse’s aid and held positions with the VNA of Hanover and Spring Grove, Cross Keys Village—The Brethren Home Community and Hanover Hall. Skilled with her hands, she enjoyed crocheting afghans and sewing. She also enjoyed her time camping with her family.
In addition to her husband of 38 years, she is survived by two sons; George A. Chronister, and his wife, Jill of Littlestown, and George M. Chronister of Hanover; two grandsons; Matthew and Travis Chronister; a brother; Jim Stine of Gettysburg; two sisters; Ellen Hawk of Littlestown, and Jane Gordan of Hagerstown, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover. The burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
