Ann C. Whitson, 87, of York, formerly of Hanover, passed away peacefully and entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home.
Born on Friday, April 20, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Lester Henry and Helen Fink Chronister. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Clay Whitson, who died in 1994; a son, Jeffery Whitson, who died in 2002; and a grandson, Brock Tiehel, who died in 2018.
A graduate of Eichelberger high School, she worked as a home health aid and certified nursing assistant for many years. A former member of Genesis Church in Seven Valleys and Calvary Bible Church in Hanover, she enjoyed puzzles, word searches, and spending time outside, especially, tending her flower garden and bird watching.
Survivors include six children, Cheryl Whitson of Hanover, Tom Whitson and his wife, Ronda, of Dover, Patricia Perky and her husband, Dave, of SC, Robert Whitson and his wife, Teri, of Abbottstown, Karen Lookenbill and her husband, Mark, of York, and Tony Whitson and his wife, Patti, of Spring Grove; ten grandchildren, Tate, Tim, Shannon, Tia, Sarah, Nichole, Travis, Clayton, and Kristen; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be private.
