Patricia Ann Good James, 86, of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Cross Keys Village-The Brethren Home Community following a brief illness.
Born on Saturday, June 27, 1931 in Gettysburg, she was a daughter of the late Clair R. and Clara B. Lawrence Good. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. “Jess” James, who died in 1993; a son, Christopher A. James, who died in 2015; a great-grandson, Owen James; two sisters, Yvonne “Honey” Johnson and Jane Goodfellow; and three brothers, Lawrence “Larry” Good, Robert Good and Clair “Brush” Good.
A 1949 graduate of Eichelberger High School, she was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Ann dedicated most of her life to raising her children, but later worked for The Lite-House, Inc. from which she retired. She was a member of AmVets Post 22, where she spent Wednesday nights with friends who were like family. She loved spending time with her family and some of her fondest memories were shared around campfires at Assateaque or on the beach at Ocean City, NJ. Ann enjoyed the game of Bingo and was a member of various card clubs. Skilled in the kitchen, she was known for her soups, chicken pot pies, and chocolate fudge.
Survivors include five sons, Barry James of Burbank, CA, Robert James II and his wife, Janice of Bonneauville, Tim James and his wife, Cathy of Hanover, Jay James of Hanover and Neal James and his wife, Vickie of Hanover; three daughters, Sue James Baadte and her husband, Don of East Berlin, Leslie James Wendler and her husband, Eric of Mt. Airy, MD and Amy James Warehime and her husband, Jeff of Hanover; one sister, Sara Musselman and her husband, Nevin; one brother, Thomas Good and his wife, Linda, all of Hanover; 27 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a great-great-great-grandson due in March; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Brown Good of New Oxford and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held 11 am on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Panebaker Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover with The Rev. Mr. Thomas Aumen officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a viewing from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
