Allen L. Rue Sr.

Allen Levere Rue, Sr., 64, of New Oxford, beloved husband of Ruth Ellen Rue, entered into God’s eternal care on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at York Hospital from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Born on Tuesday, July 17, 1951 in the Green Springs community of Adams County, he was a son of the late William E. Rue, Sr. and Bessie Laughman Rue.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Rue, and a sister, Susan Slaybaugh.  He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps.
Allen was employed by BAE Systems for ten years and later worked for Penn Mar Castings for 16 years, retiring in 2015.  He was a member of the McSherrystown Home Association, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1406, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2506, AmVets Post #22, Hanover Loyal Order of Moose #227, and the New Oxford Social Club.  He enjoyed going to Ocean City, MD, playing golf and racing late model cars, but his greatest pleasure was riding his motorcycle.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 40 years, is a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Rue of Hanover; a son, Allen Levere Rue, Jr. of Augusta, GA; four grandchildren, Ian, Julia, William, and Bryonna; two brothers, William Rue, Jr. and his wife, Michelle, of Dover and Kevin Rue and his wife, Brenda, of Hanover; five sisters, Doris Harrison and her husband, Ed, of Spring Grove, Debra Thomas and her husband, Mike, Yvonne Marchio and her husband, Rodney, Joanne McMaster and her husband, Brian, and Mary Gebhart and her husband, Rick, all of Hanover; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Calvary Bible Church, 605 Wilson Avenue, Hanover with The Rev. Michael Osladil officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
