Alan M. Teel of Hanover entered into God’s eternal care surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, September 24 at Hanover Hall Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness. He was 57.
Born Saturday, March 24, 1956, in Hanover, he was son of the late Robert F. and Mary A. (Poist) Teel also of Hanover. He is survived by his sister Rosemary Noel and her husband, William, of Hanover, as well as brother John F. Teel and wife, Jessica, of New Oxford; an aunt, Patricia “Patty” Poist Kebil and her husband, Joe, of Hanover; and one niece, Jennifer Noel. He is also survived by numerous cousins and close friends.
Alan was a 1974 graduate of Delone Catholic High School. He worked throughout the restaurant business in the Hanover area, most notably as General Manager of Patty and John’s restaurant for 17 years. He also managed the Hotel Oxford and the Crazy Horse Saloon.
Alan was known for his outgoing personality and his love of travel, especially to the Caribbean and Mexico. He could always be found surrounded by friends and loved to bring laughter to any situation. Many would attest to his generosity and zeal for life.
A memorial Mass will be said at 11 AM Monday, September 30, 2013 at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 220 Third Street, Hanover by The Rev. John D. Schmalhofer. Burial will follow in St. Vincent’s Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 9 – 10:30 AM Monday at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc., 311 Broadway, Hanover.
