Adam Edward Lippy, 23, was taken from this life on Sunday, October 3, 2010.
Born March 11, 1987 in Hanover, he was a son of Wesley Lippy of New Oxford and Tammy McMaster Sanders and her husband, Brian, of Gettysburg. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Roberta G. McMaster, and paternal grandparents, Carroll and Louella Lippy. A 2005 graduate of Gettysburg High School, he was employed by Double D Roofing.
Adam enlisted with the US Army and served until being honorably discharged in 2008. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and spending time with friends and family.
Surviving, in addition to his parents and step-father, is his wife of five months, Leah West Lippy; three sisters, Erica Sanders-Briggs and her husband, Darrin, of North Carolina, Briana Murphy of East Berlin, and Sara Sanders of Gettysburg; one brother, Ryan Lippy of New Oxford; maternal grandfather, Donald E. McMaster of Heidlersburg; paternal grandparents, Linda and Donald Sanders of Gettysburg; a nephew, Braeden Briggs; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6084 West Canal Road, Abbottstown by The Rev. David Hereshko. Serving as pallbearers will be James Redding, Russell McMaster, Barron Finneyfrock, Eric Keller, Derick Kuhn, Brett West and Ben McMaster. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hanover with military graveside rites being rendered by Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held 6-8:00 PM Friday, with a prayer service to be said at 8:00 PM, at Panebaker Funeral Home, Inc.
